Patient Update on Upcoming Building Improvements
Building Improvement At Gold Street Surgery
Gold Street Surgery will begin essential building improvement works from 16th March. During this period, we will have fewer clinical rooms than usual, but we want to reassure all our patients that we will continue to provide a FULL service.
To support this, our team will be working in a more proactive and coordinated way, adjusting the way we book and manage appointments to keep the experience as smooth as possible for everyone. Our priority remains ensuring that patients receive timely, high‑quality care during this temporary change.
We will also be working closely with our Patient Participation Group (PPG) over the coming weeks to discuss practical ideas to make the process as seamless as possible. Their feedback will play an important role in helping us support patients effectively during the refurbishment period.
We thank all our patients for their understanding and patience while we improve the surgery facilities for the long term benefit of the whole community.
For any queries, please contact the surgery reception team.
Gold Street Surgery
Delivering high‑quality care while we build for the future.
From Monday 16th March and throughout our planned renovation, Gold Street Surgery will be introducing changes to how patients are navigated to a clinician. All requests, urgent and routine-will be clinically reviewed so we can get patients seen by the right clinician first time. Patients may be directed to a GP, nurse, pharmacist, physiotherapist, mental heath worker, or another member of our multidisciplinary team.
We remain fully committed during this time to the continuity of your care, and where it is clinically appropriate, patients will still be booked in with their usual or preferred clinician.
Priority groups including children under five, older or frail patients, palliative care support and those undergoing cancer treatment will continue to be fast tracked to ensure timely contact from a clinician.
Routine and urgent appointment requests can now be made from 6:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Requests will continue to be reviewed and addressed during normal practice opening hours.
